The Tint
That
Changes Color.
Your windshield shifts from blue to purple to green depending on the light. People at red lights will stare. That’s intentional. Welcome to chameleon tint.
Color-Shifting Film.
One Car. Every Light.
Most window films just… make things darker. Chameleon does something else entirely.
Chameleon window tint uses multi-layer nano-ceramic technology to create a prismatic effect. The film shifts between blue, purple, teal, and green based on viewing angle, light intensity, and time of day. Morning commute looks different from afternoon parking lot. Every day is a new color.
From inside the car it is completely transparent. You see the road exactly as normal. No tinted view, no color cast, no drama. The effect only exists for the people outside looking in.
From outside the car it looks like your glass is alive. Not many things on a car move without moving. This film does. See what it looks like in our gallery.
And yes, it actually blocks UV and heat. Up to 99% UV protection and real infrared rejection. So it is not just a style play, it keeps your interior from becoming an oven in a Pennsylvania July.
Garage 717 is one of the few shops in Lebanon County that installs chameleon film correctly on windshields. Precise edge cutting, PA-legal VLT, no guesswork. If you want to know what the law says, read our PA tint law guide first.
Chameleon film technology is part of the broader nano-ceramic window film category. The International Window Film Association (IWFA) sets the quality and installation standards all professional shops follow.
See It on a Real Car
Both photos below are actual installs from Garage 717. Not stock. Not a render. A real car that someone drove to Myerstown and picked up looking like this.
Six Things Nobody
Tells You About This Film
Not a metaphor. Blue at one angle, purple from another, green in the right afternoon light. The exact shift depends on your car’s glass curve, the sun angle, and the universe cooperating. No two cars look identical.
The nano-ceramic layers reject 45 to 55% of infrared heat. On a 90-degree July day in Lebanon County that is the difference between a sauna and a normal car interior. Your dog will thank you.
From inside the car, this film is invisible. You see 100% clearly. The entire color effect lives on the outside surface. Your passengers will not notice anything except that people in parking lots keep looking at your car.
UV rays fade dashboards, crack leather, and add up on your skin during long drives. This film blocks up to 99% of them. Sunscreen for your car, basically. Available without SPF 50 smell.
No metal in the film. GPS works. E-ZPass works. Your phone works. The backup camera works. Every ADAS sensor works. Chameleon film is radio-transparent, which is exactly what it should be.
Every chameleon install at Garage 717 is done to Pennsylvania VLT requirements. You will not have a surprise conversation with a state trooper about your windshield. That is our job to handle, not yours.
Is Chameleon Tint
Legal in Pennsylvania?
Short answer: yes. Longer answer: yes, as long as the VLT is right. Here is what that means.
Chameleon Film is PA-Legal When Installed Correctly.
Pennsylvania law (Title 75, section 4524) does not ban chameleon film. It regulates VLT, visible light transmission, which is the percentage of light that passes through the glass. Front side windows need at least 70% VLT. Rear glass has no restriction at all.
At Garage 717 we know these rules by heart. Every windshield application is measured and cut to PA specs before it goes on your car. If you want the full breakdown, read our Pennsylvania tint law guide. It covers every window on every vehicle type.
