Is window tinting legal in Pennsylvania? +
Yes. Pennsylvania law requires front side windows to allow at least 70% light transmission (VLT). Rear windows and rear side windows have no VLT restriction. Windshield tinting is allowed only in a 3-inch strip at the top — or with chameleon film that meets VLT requirements. We handle all installs to PA legal standards.

How long does a tint job take? +
Most standard vehicles are completed in 2–4 hours. Larger SUVs or trucks may take 4–6 hours. We recommend dropping off in the morning and picking up by afternoon. Same-day service is available.
-
What’s the difference between ceramic and carbon film? +
Ceramic film uses nano-ceramic particles to block up to 99% UV and significantly more infrared heat than carbon. Carbon film uses carbon particles — it’s non-metallic, won’t fade, and provides solid heat rejection at a lower price point. Both are great choices; ceramic is the premium upgrade.
-
How long does tint take to cure? +
Tint is fully installed when you pick up your car, but the adhesive cures over 3–7 days depending on temperature and humidity. During this time you may see small water bubbles or haze — this is normal and will disappear on its own. Do not roll down windows for the first 3 days.
-
Do you offer a warranty? +
Yes. All ceramic and carbon installs come with a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, and color change. Chameleon film carries a manufacturer-backed warranty. We stand behind every install — if something’s wrong, bring it back.
-
Do you tint homes and businesses? +
Not at this time. Garage 717 specializes exclusively in automotive window tinting. This focus means every install gets our full attention and expertise.
