Tesla
Deserves
Better Tint.
Tesla glass is massive. The roof alone lets in more heat than most entire cars. Ceramic film is not optional for a comfortable PA summer. It is the fix.
More Glass. More Heat.
More Reason to Tint.
A Tesla Model Y has roughly 40% more exposed glass than a comparable gas car. That is not a design flaw. It is just physics, and ceramic film is how you deal with it.
Tesla vehicles have sweeping panoramic glass roofs, large windshields, and minimal pillars. It looks incredible. It also means the cabin heats up faster, the AC works harder, and your battery range takes a hit every time you park in a Pennsylvania summer.
Standard dyed or metallic films are not the right answer here. Metallic films block GPS, disable Autopilot cameras, and can interfere with Tesla’s built-in antennas. That is a problem unique to EVs, and it is the reason Tesla owners need a shop that understands the difference.
At Garage 717, every Tesla gets nano-ceramic film with zero metal content. Your Autopilot works. Your GPS works. Your E-ZPass works. The only thing that changes is how hot your interior gets in July, which is dramatically less hot.
We have done Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X in Lebanon County. Each one gets computer-cut film matched to the exact glass dimensions. No gaps, no white edges, no bubbles. See the results in our gallery.
Tesla’s own support documentation recommends non-metallic films to preserve Autopilot and camera functionality. The International Window Film Association (IWFA) certifies the film standards that make this possible.

We Have Done All of Them.
Each Tesla model has different glass dimensions. Here is what we recommend for each, based on Pennsylvania tint law and what actually looks good.

The Film Tesla
Actually Approves Of.
Tesla’s cameras, GPS, radar, and Autopilot sensors all live inside and around the glass. The wrong film breaks them. Here is how ceramic keeps everything working.
Zero Metal. Zero Interference.
Older metallic and carbon films contain metal particles that block radio frequencies. For most cars this is annoying but manageable. For a Tesla, it disables Autopilot cameras, kills GPS accuracy, and can cause false sensor readings.
Nano-ceramic film contains no metal at all. Radio signals pass through it without any interference. The film rejects heat using ceramic nano-particles that absorb infrared energy instead of blocking radio waves. Physics working in your favor for once.
Every Tesla tint job at Garage 717 uses signal-safe ceramic film. We also leave the camera zones clear and verify all Autopilot functions work correctly before you drive off. If something is off, we fix it before you leave.
